Clackmannanshire Works, Clackmannanshire Council's employability service, is celebrating its first year of operation. The service offers a wide range of support and help to overcome whatever barriers may be in someone's way to doing what they want to do. Clackmannanshire Works aims to help people into sustainable futures which include employment. During the service's first 12 months Clackmannanshire Works has helped 180 people move towards and into sustainable jobs and careers. To celebrate the anniversary the service is holding an event on Thursday 6th August in Kilncraigs, Alloa. Council leader Janet Cadenhead will be among the guests at the event, along with some clients who have been helped by Clackmannanshire Works and local employers who use the service to help with their recruitment needs. Councillor Cadenhead said: "As well as being a celebration of the project's first birthday, this event is a chance to recognise the efforts of the clients who have registered, the employers who have supported local people and the project's staff and their commitment to the project's success. I wish Clackmannanshire Works every success for the future." Anyone who would like support from Clackmannanshire Works should call 01259 226699 or e-mail
